The 2009 Minnesota Governor's Fishing Opener held on White Bear Lake May 8th and 9th has come and gone, it was a great success!

The 2009 Governor's Fishing Opener in White Bear Lake was a great success in so many ways. More than 600 volunteers from the area made the community shine for all of the media, spectators and guests. Stories and articles continue to appear nationwide about the unprecedented hospitality and quaint community that White Bear provides.

We are so proud to have had the opportunity to showcase White Bear to the world and this would not have been possible without the members of our fantastic community who came forward as volunteers, sponsors and participants. The thousands of volunteer hours contributed to the tremendous detail and success of this event.
